Kaczawskie Mountains, The Land of Extinct Volcanoes

Kaczawskie Mountains, it's a small mountain range in the Sudetes, located in Lower Silesia, near Jelenia Góra. It is also a land of extinct volcanoes, with visible cones left behind by volcanoes. The average height of the Kaczawskie Mountains is about 600 m above sea level. The highest peak is Folwarczna with a height of 722.91 m. The Kaczawskie Mountains attract with their irresistible charm, although they are not spectacularly high. Instead, you will find a wonderful local community that will invite you to join them for workshops in bread baking, weaving, mineral prospecting and many other activities in the spirit of slow traveling.

Skopiec is one of the three highest peaks in the Kaczawskie Mountains, belonging to the Crown of Polish Mountains according to the list of the highest peaks in Polish mountain ranges established in 1997. The Kaczawskie Mountains, together with the Kaczawskie Foothills, are the lowest range in the entire Sudety Mountains. Skopiec is a small and forested peak, not offering too many views. Tourists used to have to wander a lot to find the highest point, but now the hill is well marked and it is clear where to take the right photo for the photo book! It is therefore a summit that can be climbed very easily and is suitable for a short family walk.

The Kaczawskie Foothills are great places to gain new experiences at events and workshops organised for children and adults! Among other things, you will have the opportunity here to search for gold, agates and other precious stones. You will also have a chance to learn how to weave, make pendants or blow glass. In addition, lovers of the outdoors will have the chance to take a horse or carriage ride on one of the volcanoes! This is the region in Poland with the richest variety of workshops, so there is certainly something for everyone!
